Noted Japanese auto maker Honda first introduced the ‘Civic’ model as a subcompact two door car in 1972. Since then across nine generations , it has become popular as a premium compact sedan. It is also one of highest selling cars of all time with more than 16 million units sold till date. Honda also introduced a high performing ‘Si’ (sport Injected) variant for several markets during its third generation in 1984. Since then along with the base model, the ‘Civic Si’ has also gone through several changes. For the 2015 model year, Honda has introduced a new version of the ‘Civic Si’ in sedan and coupe body styles with better equipment, a refreshed look and better performance. Prices of the new models have also been announced.
The new version will come with standard equipment like- rearview camera, 7 inch touchscreen display and audio system ( navigation available optionally), a new sporty interior design and Honda LaneWatch safety feature.
The new model will draw power from a 2.4 liter four-cylinder i-VTEC engine from the 2014 Model Year . power has been increased by 4 bhp to 205 bhp and torque by 5 Nm to 235 Nm. Engine has been paired with a six-speed manual gearbox ( close ratio).
