The ‘car movie’ became a genre unto itself, and over the years, we’ve had a lot of unforgettable moments from movies that make cars their second heroes. From the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise to the ‘Transformers’ series, Hollywood has given us superb car moments to cherish. Here are iconic cars from the movies that we aren’t going to forget anytime soon.

1964 Aston Martin DB5

Goldfinger, 1964 : Quite possibly the most iconic movie car of all time, the Aston Martin DB5 is a legendary vehicle. What did we get to see in the James Bond blockbuster of the 60s? Attached are machine guns, ejector seats, an oil-slick sprayer, and an unforgettable forerunner to modern navigation systems. The Aston Martin’s legacy is firmly sealed in Hollywood, and recently an Aston sold for a whopping 4.6 million!

1932 Ford Coupe

American Graffiti, 1973: American Graffiti is a classic car movie. George Lucas made this glorious movie before Star Wars, and his knack for capturing iconic moments is all too evident; the deuce coupe where Harrison Ford’s vehicle is knocked off by a Ford Coupe is unforgettable.

1968 Mustang GT 390

Bullitt, 1968: Steve McQueen gave us an iconic movie performance, and the movie gave us an iconic image; the chase scenes involving the Mustang are etched in the collective memory of the moviegoing public. The car was an astounding success after the movie hit, and the Mustang continues to be a staple of pop culture. I mean, who hasn’t heard the iconic rock song. ‘Mustang Sally’?

1970 Dodge Charger

The Fast and the Furious, 2001: The first one of the ‘Fast’ franchise is arguably its best. Not only was it a huge hit, it single-handedly revived the ‘car movie’ genre, and did so with effortless cool. The Dodge Charger in this movie exhibits all manner of fantastical imagery, including a wheelstand and burnout “performed” at the same time! The 1969 version of the Dodge Charger was brought to life on the screen in the Dukes of Hazzard.

Chevrolet Camaro

Transformer’ movie series: The yellow Camaro, the four-wheeled monument in the movie Bumblebee, was further popularized when it was seen in the Transformer movie series. The car has undergone several changes throughout the series, but the unmistakable presence is captured in every single one of the movies.

Baby Driver, 2017 : If you’ve watched the movie, you’ll remember Ansel Elgort’s quick getaways on the Subaru. The modified 2006 version of the WRX was a success, and this is the one seen in the movie, a perfect image to accompany the unforgettable soundtrack. The car is distinguished by its 2.5-liter H4 engine.

1969 Mustang

John Wick, 2014: Keanu Reeves, a true Hollywood daredevil, performed the stunts with the car himself. While the action sequences left a lot of mouths open in the movie theater, the legendary ‘69 Mustang made an indelible impression on audiences.
